What is Pay-Per-Click (PPC)?

Pay per click, or PPC, is an advertising technique used on search engines. Pay per click advertisements are usually text ads placed near search results; when a site visitor clicks on the advertisement, the advertiser is charged a small amount. Variants include pay for placement and pay for ranking. Pay per click is also sometimes known as Cost per click or CPC.

Why should I pay for PPC?

While the best publicity is free publicity, as in organic search engine results, not everyone is able to achieve top ten results for every keyword or phrase a business may target. That's why we recommend pay-per-click campaigns to augment a solid search engine optimization strategy.

There are web surfers who will only click on natural search engine results, yet there are others who believe that if someone is paying to be on the first page, as in PPC, then they must really have something to offer. A smart business will try to cater to both web use psychologies.

How much should I budget for PPC?

Google, Yahoo and MSN's PPC systems allows you to setup budgets on a per click, daily and monthly basis. The most important part of budgeting for PPC is monitoring your campaign. Create a small budget to start and monitor the results. Make sure that the money being spent is yielding results. Once that's accomplished, expand your budget to match your selling capacity. We have seen cases where advertising dollars are wasted because the campaign creates more leads than a business can effectively handle.

How does this work?

We begin by working with you and your staff to pinpoint the most urgent missed opportunities that are preventing optimum conversion rates. This will include recommendations as well as an ad copy that can be quickly implemented on both your landing pages and on your existing Pay per Click accounts.
